Obituary for Dr. William A. "Bill' Potts

Dr. William Allen “Bill” Potts, 91, Mount Olive resident and retired veterinarian, passed away Saturday morning, August 18, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Dr. Potts had served in the United States Navy and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mount Olive. He was owner/operator of Mount Olive Animal Hospital for many years until his retirement.

Dr. Potts, son of the late William Herbert Potts and Addie Belle Royal Potts, and brother of the late Virginia Potts Clark, is survived by his wife, Ann Fitzgerald Potts, of the home; three daughters, Maridee Potts Clark and husband, Randy, of Cary, Allyson Potts Campbell of Martinsville, Va., and Laura Potts Henderlong and husband, Michael, of Far Hills, NJ; six grandchildren, Stephen Clark, Will Clark, Christianna Jarrett and husband, Jess, Allyn Ann Campbell, William Henderlong, and Patrick Henderlong; and two great-grandchildren, Hudson Jarrett and Kensley Clark.

The Potts family will receive friends Monday, August 20, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home. A service of worship to remember the life of Dr. Potts will be Tuesday, August 21, at11 a.m. in Mount Olive’s First United Methodist Church. Pastors Marti Hatch and Michael Binger will officiate. Burial will be private. Memorial gifts may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, or First United Methodist Church, PO Box 420, Mount Olive.
