Obituary for Eleanor Stancil Tucker

Mrs. Eleanor Stancil Tucker, Faison resident, passed away early Saturday, February 17, at the Kitty Askins Hospice Center at the age of 93.

A life long homemaker, she was married to the late Ben Tucker. She had worked at Chas. F. Cates & Son, Inc. in a variety of positions. She was a member of Faison United Methodist Church and had served her community with ideas and creativity on the Faison Improvement Group.

Mrs. Tucker’s life will be celebrated Monday, February 19, at 1 p.m. at Faison United Methodist Church with Pastor Jabe Largen officiating. Burial will follow in the Faison Cemetery. Flowers are welcome, or memorial gifts may be made to Faison United Methodist Church, attn.: Beth Taylor, PO Box 417, Faison, NC 28341.

Mrs. Tucker is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Kenyon and husband, Joseph, and Michele Grady and husband, Bennie, all of Faison; three sons, Bobby Gene Tucker and wife, Noleen of Faison, Dean Tucker and wife, Pam, of Mount Olive, and Donnie Tucker and wife, Pamela “Pam” of Myrtle Beach, SC; eleven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Molly Gray Burch and husband, Conrad, of Colorado; and two half-brothers, Gerald Stancil and Larry Stancil, both of Turkey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben; a son, Benny Ray Tucker; her parents, Cora Langston Stancil and Edgar R. Stancil; brothers, Stacy Stancil, Laster “Dick” Stancil, and Arbany “Bud” Stancil; sister, Barbara Summerford; and half-brother, Jerry Stancil.
