Obituary for Benjamin Lewis "Bennie" Grady, Sr.

Benjamin Lewis Grady, 73, known to most as Bennie, a farmer and agribusinessman of the Faison area, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at Vidant Duplin Hospital.

The family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, and at the residence at other times. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 29, at 2 p.m. at Faison United Methodist Church with Pastor Jabe Largen officiating, followed by burial in the Faison Cemetery. Flowers are welcome, or memorial gifts may be made to Faison United Methodist Church, PO Box 417, Faison, NC 28341, or to Bethel United Methodist Church, c/o Charlie Ivey, 2284 Summerlin's Crossroads Road, Mount Olive, NC 28365.

Bennie was a member of Beautancus Hunt Club and the NC Cattle Association.

Surviving family includes his wife, Michele Tucker Grady, of the home; a daughter, Ambre Grady Jenkins of Greenville; a son and daughter-in-law, Benjamin Lewis Grady, Jr. and Ashley Grady of Faison; four beloved grandchildren, Cole Grady, Claire Grady, Will Jenkins, and Shea Jenkins; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Jerry and Billie Carol Grady and Steve and Betty Lou Grady, all of Mount Olive, and Brenda Grady of Waynesville; Michele's brothers and sister, Bobby Tucker, Dean Tucker, Donnie Tucker, and Carolyn Tucker Kenyon and their spouses; and several nieces and nephew, along with his very best friend, Reginald Hines, Jr. whom he referred to as "Hines."

Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, James Earl "Jim" Grady, Sr. and Mildred Summerlin Grady; two brothers, James Earl Grady, Jr. and Dwight Delano Grady, Sr.; and his "pa and ma-in-law," Ben and Eleanor Tucker.
