Obituary for Donald E. Hall

Donald Edward Hall, 81, Dudley area resident, passed away suddenly Saturday morning, June 22, at his home.

There will be visitation at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive on Sunday, June 23, from 6 until 7 p.m. Graveside rites will be held Monday, June 24, at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. Friends and family are also welcome to call at the residence.

Mr. Hall was retired from Sylvania in Smithfield where he was employed in the engineering department. In his retirement, he enjoyed farming. He had a deep passion for his pickup of which he was meticulous, and was touted as having the cleanest truck in Wayne County. Having served in the United States Army, he enjoyed western t.v. shows.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nellie Kelly Hall; a brother, Kenneth Hall and wife, Mary, of Dudley; nieces and nephews including Vicky Hill, Phyllis Tucker and husband, Billy, and Wendy Stroud and husband, Harvey, all of Mount Olive, Adam Vinson (with his son, Easton) of Goldsboro, Amanda V. Kirby and husband, Travis, of Fremont, Lance Hall and wife, Robin, Ken Hall, Christy Hall, and Alicia Davis, all of Dudley; in-laws, Bobby Kelly and wife, Frances, and Nancy K. Brock, all of Mount Olive, and Sadie K. Edwards of Seven Springs; special friends who were like sons, Frank Hines and Randy Lee, both of Dudley; and other nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin D. Hall and Callie Bliss Howell Hall; a sister, Audrey Coley; and several nephews.
