Obituary for George R. "Poly" Taylor

George Roland “Poly” Taylor, 73, of the Scott’s Store area, Mount Olive, passed away Monday night, May 20, 2019 at the Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, May 27, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 28, at 11 a.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home with burial following in the Wiggins Cemetery.

Mr. Taylor was retired from the United States Air Force. He had been a structural repairman in both military and civil arenas and had also worked with a paper copier company. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Preceded in death by his parents, Jasper Franklin Taylor and Annie Pearl Wiggins Taylor; an infant sister, Marie McCullen; brothers, Jasper F. Taylor, Jr. and Lawrence McCullen; and sisters, Yvonne Brogden, Mildred Ann “Bill” Reddish, and Jean Shelton, Poly is survived by his wife, Peggy B. Taylor; three sons, George R. Taylor, Jr. of the home, Wesley Taylor and wife,Crystal, of Bunn Level, and Chauncey Taylor of Roy, Utah; two daughters, Kay Keenan and husband, Tommy, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Stacie Kelley and husband, Chris, of Milford, NH; six grandchildren, Dalis Butterfield, James Butterfield, Erin Kelley, Reid Taylor, Koltan Taylor, and Remi Taylor; two sisters, Grace Bateman of Fla., and Carlene Calhoun of Ariz.; four brothers, Virgil Taylor of Kenansville, Ronnie Taylor of Clinton, LaVelle Taylor and Chestley Taylor, both of Mount Olive; and many nieces and nephews.
