Obituary for Richard "R.J." Taylor Jr.

Richard "R. J." Taylor, Jr., 77, resident of the Outlaw's Bridge section, Albertson, died Saturday night, February 9, 2019.

The family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 12. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 13, at 11 a.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home with burial immediately following in Pineview Cemetery, Seven Springs.

R. J. was the son of the late Richard and Beulah Taylor. He had been employed in earlier years at Albain Shirt Factory and Kinston Shirt Company. His last employment was with the Lenoir County Public Schools as a carpenter in its school maintenance division. He was one of the founding members of Albertson Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie Outlaw Taylor, of the home; a son, Richie Taylor and wife, Audrey, of Albertson; a daughter, Amanda T. Murphy and husband, Timmy, of Pink Hill; four grandchildren, Crystal Varker and husband, Billy, Jason Murphy and wife, Crystal, Jamie Howard and husband, Frankie, and Dustin Taylor; twelve great grandchildren, Sarah, Dillon, Allie, Austin, Kaylee, Zackary, Payton, Nick, Gunner, Blaiden, Levi, and Lucy; three sisters, Dorothy T. Turner of Deep Run, Katherine T. Grant of Kinston, and Betty Jean T. Padgett of Beulaville; a brother, Bruce Taylor of Albertson; several nieces and nephews.
