Obituary for William F. "Bill" Andrews

William F. "Bill" Andrews, 83, of the Scott's Store community, Mount Olive passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017, at the N.C. State Veterans Home in Kinston surrounded by his loving family.

He retired as sergeant first class with 30 years of service in the U.S. Army and N.C. National Guard, was an engine mechanic, and had been an inspector with Guilford Mills.

He is survived by his children that he loved so much and was so proud of, son Danny F. Andrews, M.D. of Hickory (Jim Graham) and daughter Lovey Andrews of Goldsboro (Keith Jones). He is also survived by a beloved sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Bill Teal of Leland, as well as his "little girl" and best companion, Snuggles. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law that were very dear to him.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Faye Marie Bishop Andrews; his parents William Walton and Corena Stilley Andrews; and a sister Peggy Andrews Maready.

Bill was a member of Snow Hill Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee for several years, and thought of all the members of the church as part of his family.

A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, November 29, at 11 a.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive with burial following at Snow Hill Church Cemetery with full Military Honors. Church pastor Mark S. Hobbs will be the presiding minister.

Flowers are welcome but family prefers donations be made in his honor to the NC State Veteran's Home (2150 Hull Road, Kinston NC 28501) or to Snow Hill FWB Church (c/o Jenean Kennedy, 1571 Red Hill Road, Mount Olive NC 28365).
